Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said his committee will start to investigate the FBI and DOJ’s potential abuse of the FISA warrant process and surveillance of the Trump campaign and called for a special counsel to investigate these potential abuses of power during a press conference on Monday. Missouri senator Josh Hawley says he fully supports the call for a special counsel.
“Several weeks ago, I asked the FBI for answers on its counterintelligence probe of @realDonaldTrump. I haven’t gotten any answers. So for starters, I will wholeheartedly support @LindseyGrahamSC call for special counsel and believe it should include FBI,” Senator Hawley tweeted.
“And it’s time for oversight hearings. Under oath, in full public view. With subpoenas, if agencies continue to stonewall. This is a democracy and we’re going to keep it that way,” he added.
